Reiki/ Seichim is primarily perceived as a practice for healing the body, but it is also a method for healing the mind and spirit. Ultimately, Reiki has the power to reunite the trinity of Mind-Body-Spirit in their optimal state of harmony. All of us need to start the process of returning to that state of harmony. Reiki, with its power and simplicity and its methods for healing both the self and others, offers the way to start taking what I call ‘the journey home’” – Eleanor McKenzie

Seichim is an ancient and sacred form of hands on healing and is said to be the Parent Energy of all hands on healing systems. It was rediscovered in the early 1980's by an American Reiki Master, Patrick Zeigler who prayed, meditated and fasted to be empowered, much the same way that Dr Usui did when he rediscovered Reiki.”

A Practitioner work with Seichim in the aura in the same way that a Reiki Practitioner works on the body.

What happens during a Reiki/ Seichim treatment?

The treatment consists of the practitioner placing their hands very lightly at certain points on the body. These will be explained to you beforehand and you can say if you are particularly sensitive in any area and would prefer the practitioner to work above your body. Don’t worry if you find yourself drifting off or falling asleep, you are relaxing and it is a common benefit of Reiki/Seichim (it means it is working!)

Reiki/Seichim will continue to work with you for 24 hours after your treatment and can act as a detox for the body. It’s a good idea to drink plenty of water during this time.

What happens at my first Reiki/ Seichim session?

At your first session your practitioner will to take some basic personal details (name, address, telephone number etc), and a brief medical history. You may wish to discuss your reasons for having a Reiki treatment, but this is entirely up to you and you will not be pressed to provide any information that you would prefer not to discuss. Anything you say to your practitioner is confidential.

Then the practitioner will place his hands on your body and channel the Reiki/. Seichim energy. This can take 45 to 75 mins. You need to do nothing at this time but rest! After the session you should feel relaxed and calm. Your practitioner will advise you to drink plenty of water and rest as much as possible for a least the rest of the day.

Why do people have Reiki/Seichim? How many treatments should I book?

People have Reiki/Seichim to assist their body to return to a state of balance (to feel better), and many have Reiki just for the nurturing aspect (it feels so good). Reiki/Seichim strives to bring the body into balance and as such does not treat symptoms. If your problem has been with you for a long while then it will take a number of treatments to help you. Some people report great improvements after only 1 session!
